###### VIDEO TRANSCRIPT | **Scaffold - Blog Post \[NEW\]**:

Okay. I wanna do a quick video
going over the updated blog
post template.
So, let me make my
image a little
smaller here, and
I think it actually makes sense,
if my computer will let me move.
There we go. Okay.
So, you can already see the problem, right?
When I hover over, this is the old
blog post template, so this is called,
in, in your settings, Scaffold Blog
Post Legacy now.
It was originally just called Scaffold Blog Post. This
is now called Scaffold Blog Post Legacy,
and the new template is called
Scaffold Blog Post New.
So, the problem with this legacy post
is that you can see when you hover over
it, everything's orange.
But if I click- Mm-hmm ... in here, I can edit the post.
But if I click outside of here, it wants to gl-
open the global content editor.
The reason this is happening
is because I wanted to give users a way
that they can go in here and they can change,
you know, their blog post settings, or they could change...
You could see here the size of the head, the title
there, if they wanna include the publish
date, how they want it to look. And then there's,
uh, you know, even more if I go...
Let me go back here.
If I go, uh, into the sidebar
settings where you can set up, you know, a CTA
here, and you can add a form
or whatever. There's a
bunch of things that I wanted to give users the ability
to do. Also, if you wanted to have this
featured, uh, related posts
down here, things like that.
So, because
I wanted to give users a,
a, a bunch of ways that they can customize their blog
posts, I made it a global module because
obviously if you change,
say, the form here on the CTA, if you,
if you updated it to link somewhere else
and you have 300 blog posts,
you're not gonna wanna edit them individually.
You're gonna wanna make that change once.
But it, it created odd
behavior in the editor
where you get this bright orange everywhere, and unless
you click with the- Mm-hmm ... content here,
it's gonna open up a global editor and it's very confusing.
And I, I made
videos and documentation to show this, but it's
still, it just wasn't
ideal. So let me show you the updated
blog post template here.
So now you can see
if I hover my mouse here, I don't get those big
scary orange whatever.
I can click here, I can edit the title,
I can click in here.
If I click out here, it doesn't open up a global
editor or anything.
But this is only on Pro.
If I click on the side bar-
Mm-hmm ... now it'll open the side bar in a global
editor.
And I can edit that, and it's the same, basically
achieves the same thing without as much of the mess.
It achieves the same thing
that if you update something on the side bar
here,  and you have a bunch
of blog posts, you're not gonna have to do it manually on every
blog post. You just do it once,
and it goes across all your blog posts.
So let me go back here,
and then it's also the same thing if you have,
um, right now I have for this test
edited- Mm-hmm ... related post disabled.
So if you have it disabled, and same if you have the blog
b- bar disabled,
it will come down here and you can click on it here, and then
edit, you know, you can edit it, those settings.
So it's just much cleaner. You don't have
the mess of when you're editing your blog post, it
comes up a- as
a global content, uh, settings.
So you might ask, "So where are
the other blog settings here? The, the
title, the
date, the things like that?" To get to that now,
what you do is you go to edit,
pick your theme, Scaffold by your Scaffold Pro.
And it took me right there,
but what's normally gonna happen is you're gonna come right here
to the, the
theme settings,
you're gonna go to blog,
and then blog posts,
and then there's even a note here that says, "This is
only applies to the blog post
new template." If you're using the blog post
legacy, it's still gonna be the way it
was set up before.
So you could see all the same stuff
is here, you know, the, the
publish date, the styles, things like that.
Um, and then you also have the, you know, how you want the
spacing - Mm-hmm ... and layout, the margins, things like
that. So
I just wanna show you where you go
to set that up.
So what you, you do is you go to Settings,
right? You click on this little gear
icon.
You go down to Content.
You go to Blog.
And then you go to Templates,
and then you have your blog post template.
So let me go to
another one of my templates that I know I'm not
using it. You go to Actions,
Change Template,
click on Scaffold Pro, Scaffold Lite, whichever
one you're using,
and then you'll see
Scaffold Blog Post Legacy,
which is the old one with the global module,
and then Scaffold Blog Post New,
which is this updated one that I've just shown you on
the video. So
that's it. Uh, if you have any questions,
you know where to find me. You
can,
uh, email us at support@getscaffold.app,
and you can find, uh,
all of our documentations linked everywhere
in the, uh,
modules, the top of the module. So that's it
for now. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
Bye.

###### VIDEO TRANSCRIPT | **Scaffold - Blog Post \[Legacy\]**:

Let's take a look
at your blog post template.
So to access your blog post template,
no matter where you are in HubSpot, you wanna go to the top
settings gear icon
on the top of your portal here, and you click
that. And
then that's going to open up,
uh, your settings area, and you'll see
this gray sidebar.
Uh, and you can scroll down to the bottom,
and you'll see content. If it's not expanded already, you
expand content,
and then you click on blog.
Now, if you don't have a blog set up, it'll ask
you to create a blog.
Um, but
once you have a blog set up or if you already have a blog set
up, you can click on templates here.
And you see you have two different templates. You have your blog
post template and your blog listing page template.
So for this video, we're gonna go look at
the blog post template. So I can click here to actions,
and you can choose whether you wanna change your template
or edit it.
So for this example, let's go to change,
and you're gonna
click on Scaffold Pro or Scaffold Light
based on what theme you're on.
And then you're gonna see your, uh,
blog post template right there. So
you click on that,
and you select done.
So now that that's done,
let's go and edit the blog post template.
Oh, I'm sorry.
That's the wrong way.
So actually, that's good to show you 'cause if you
hit edit, it's gonna take you to
the code of the template, which is not what
you wanna do.
So to edit your blog post template,
you're gonna wanna go to one of your blog posts. So you go
to content
and then blog,
and then click on any one of your posts. So this is
really important because
I gave
a lot of different options
to users
to customize this, uh, blog
post template.
But because of that, I had to--
just the way that HubSpot's set up, I had to do something
kinda unique.
So I had to make the blog post module
on the template a global module, the
same way you would create
a global module for your navigation or your
footer or something like that.
So that's why when you see I, I went
to edit the blog post, and you see when I hover
over it, it's orange.
So this is very important for you to know and
if you're having, uh, any trouble right now.
If you want to edit your blog post,
you click to edit it, you go in the editor.
As long as you click
in the content of the blog post
like this,
now you're in the editor, and you can edit it.
But let me-- If you click outside of it,
it'll take you to the global content editor. So
now, see,
if I click here,
it's gonna ask me if I wanna open it in the global content
editor, which in this case we do.
But just one more time to show you,
when you get inside the page editor,
if you wanna just edit your blog post, just
click anywhere in the content,
and now you're in the editor for the blog post.
If you wanna edit
the-- If you wanna edit the module
itself, just click anywhere outside of
the content
and select that you wanna open the global
content editor. And the reason this, it, this is
like this is because
I wanted to give,
uh, the users of Scaffold Light or Scaffold Pro
a bunch of different options to customize,
to easily customize their blog
post template of like how they want it to look
and things like that.
And the only way to do that was to make it a,
a, uh, global
module because
y-you could end up having like two hundred blog posts. You're
not gonna wanna-- If you say, "Hey, I want a sidebar
on these blog posts,"
you're not gonna wanna do that on every single blog
post. You're gonna wanna edit it one time
and have those changes,
uh, become live across your entire blog. So anyway,
now that we're here, we've selected to edit in the global
content editor.
We can click on our contents and then blog post,
and now you can, uh,
edit your, your blog post. So
you have different styles here, basic stuff. So you have
like the width of the blog,
so you can change it to,
you know, if you wanna make it smaller
like that. I don't know why you'd want it that small,
but for here we have it set to nine.
And this is probably, if you're on Scaffold Light, this is
probably the way I'd wanna have it set up by default.
And, uh, and just one thing you've probably noticed is
when you're in a global content editor, any changes
you make, you have to hit apply,
apply changes, the button,
to see your changes. It's not like on some of the other
page modules
where if you, uh, make a change, you could see it live
in real time. But
anyway, you have your, your, uh, you
know, your, your spacing settings here. You
have them for your laptops and desktops,
tablets, and smartphones, so you can make sure it looks good
on different screen sizes.
And then let's look at blog post details. So we have,
uh, the title tag right here,
H1. You could change the display size of
it, so let's make it a little bit bigger.
You could change the border radius of
your image.
And then here, you could choose if you wanna include the
author or not. So
I don't know. Some, some, uh, companies
like to just have more like anonymous posting. Some
companies like to include the author.
You could choose whether you wanna include the publish date or not.
And then you can choose like the font associated
with those things too. So
I've mentioned before, I like using like a monospace
font on
certain things like the, you know, the blog
post author or
the, uh, publish date or the tags. Like anything
that's like not
meant for a user to really like spend time reading
it really,
I like at using like a monospace font, which
you can set,
uh, what font you wanna use in
your theme settings.
But anyway, that's just like my preference. So that's
just like, just kinda like a little side note there.
But here you could, you could set all these things. You could set
the border radius for the author image,
the size of it. So if we make it like
this, you can
see how that's changed there.
Um, and then if you want to, so
this is, this is basically--
So being able to customize these easily
is one of the reasons why
I opted to use a, a global editor on
the blog post
And then another thing is like these options down here.
So when you get to the bottom, you can choose
whether you want to,
uh, one, if you want to include y- the
tags. So you have these tags right here.
So we have them included.
You can change the border radius and the font there.
And then if you wanted to include your author
bio, so let's do that.
So in like the HubSpot settings, the user settings,
the author can have like a little bio with their social
media and stuff like that. So I included the author bio,
and now you can see this. Uh, I just have my
name. This links to,
uh, you can link it to... This will link to every
article written by this author,
and then they can have their social media,
uh, that they have set up in their bio and stuff like
that. So that's an option.
You can customize that here.
And then if you wanna include comments as well,
you can include comments. And I thought a really cool
creative way to set this up was I have it set up
kind of in like an accordion. So just as
you could change this text, you know, comments
or whatever, I have it say, "Join the conversation,"
and then you can have your comments here.
So that's basically
w- you know, some of the main reasons why
I have this set up this way.
And, uh, you can, you can choose, too,
whether you want it to be expanded or collapsed on
page load. So if you want it to be expanded on page
load, you can select that,
and the comments thing will...
they'll be expanded like that every time the,
the page loads.
So, uh, and then another thing too, I
actually...
I'm trying to think if this is on Scaffold. I think
everything up until what we're talking about now
is on Scaffold Light, and now I think we're getting
into Scaffold
Pro territory, but I'm not sure. I have
to double-check if related posts
is on Scaffold Light. But here you, you can choose
whether you wanna have ex- uh, related posts or
not too at the bottom of your blog posts. I don't know
why you wouldn't.
Um, I think,
you know, you have people
reading your blog post,
you're gonna want them to get to the bottom and have
other blog posts that they can click on. But here in the related
posts, you can,
you know, like anything else, you can customize. You can change the
border radius, you can in-
whether you wanna include the, uh, preview
summary and stuff like that. You can... The character
count of the summary, all of these different things. Very
similar to
what we showed on the blog listing,
uh, \[clears throat\] the blog listing template
settings, if you haven't seen that video yet. So
you can, you can, you know, adjust these
settings here.
So the main thing that makes this different
from Scaffold
w- the main thing that you get access to here on Scaffold
Pro now that's not on Scaffold Light is
the sidebar, which is the same thing on the listing
template. So if I go here
and say include sidebar and apply changes,
and then what I'm probably gonna wanna do is go back to settings
and make this full width now.
Okay, so now in the blog we have access
to, uh, the sidebar where we
have access to all of our different, uh,
tag, uh, categories. So we
could say, uh, you know, I wanna read more about AI.
I don't think anyone wants to read more about AI right now,
it's just everywhere you look.
But say you wanna read more about branding or whatever,
you can click that and see all the posts about
branding. Then you can have your
CTA card, which I think is really
important if you have a high traffic blog.
You, \[clears throat\] you wanna try to,
I don't know, capitalize on that traffic somehow. So you can
have a, a newsletter sign-up
or a button that leads to the trial or demo page
or something like that,
or whatever you wanna promote, you can
put on that CTA card.
And then you have like popular posts and things like that
down here. So,
a- and whatever you set for your, uh,
border radius for your author image
here, it's automatically gonna update right there.
So you see that, that's why it's squared off like that.
So those are the kind
of big reasons why this
is set up this way, and we have six blog
posts in this demo portal right
here. So if I hit publish to six assets,
it'll take me back to the blog post, and now you see the
blog post we were at before now has
all this stuff on it. I have the
related posts, I have the sidebar, all that
stuff. Now everything's squared off.
And if I wanna edit it,
remember, don't be... If you hover
over it and you see this bright orange thing, you don't have to
be worried. All you have to do is just
click inside the content,
and now you can edit your blog however you want.
So that's basically it.
I, I definitely wanted to
make a video about this 'cause I can imagine that
you can get to your... You can set it up, and
you can get to your first blog post,
and you see a bright thing of orange, and you get confused.
So I wanted to make that very clear. There's
a reason why the blog post has a
global module. It's because
I wanna give the users an easy way that they can customize
their blog post
and, and do it in one place, and it'll update
on every single one of their posts.
And, uh, and all you need to do if
you wanna bypass that is just click in the content
of your blog post, and then it'll let you edit it. So
that's it for now. If you guys have any questions,
you can, uh,
you can start a chat on the bottom right
corner of this screen,
and that'll open up a ticket, or you can e-send us
an email at support@getscaffold.app.
But that's it for now.
Thanks.
