Landing Footer

A lightweight, simplified footer designed specifically for focused landing pages.

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:

Let's take a look at the landing footer module.
So what is the land, the
footer, the landing footer or the
footer for landing pages?
So, uh, landing pages, you're
gonna have specific headers and footers
for. So on a regular page,
you want a footer that probably,
you know, on most of your website pages, your homepage
certainly, and a lot of your other website pages, you're gonna want
a footer with links to a bunch of
different pages on your website and,
and things like that.
And, uh, same with your navigation. But on a
landing page like this, this is a webinar
registration page,
uh, you don't wanna give the user a bunch
of links to click on. Basically, when the user
lands on this page,
you want them to, basically, their only options
are to fill out the form or to
go back to the homepage or go back to the page
they came from.
So because of that, we have a very simplified, we have a simplified
header up here,
and we have a simplified,
uh, footer right here.
So the footer, the landing footer
is the same, uh, as
or similar to
the regular footer
and similar to our navigation where
it's a global
module. So you set--
you edit it.
You're not gonna wanna have to edit it on every
page individually. You're gonna wanna have to edit
it one time
and then it, across the whole website where
this, uh, module lives, it'll automatically
update. So let's click. So when you hover
over it, you see
this is a global content, this is global
content, and when you click on it, you'll get a
pop-up, "Do you wanna edit this?" And you say, "Yes,
I wanna edit it."
So that opens up the global content editor,
and you'll see right here on your side, Landing
Footer. I click on that.
It's gonna ask me to open it again in the
content editor.
And now that I click on it
a third time,
there it is.
So let's scroll down here.
You have your footer logo. It's pretty simple. You have your
logo. Your logo is
going to be pulled automatically from your brand
settings in HubSpot.
But if you wanna override it for whatever reason,
you wanna put a different logo here,
you just select this. If you are on Scaffold
Pro and you have light mode and dark mode, I suggest
whatever logo you use, it should be either
a PNG with a transparent background
or an SVG or something, because
when it's in dark mode, it's automatically gonna turn
white. Let me, let me actually see if I can show you quickly.
I go here, and I change this to dark.
See how now it's turned white. So you're, you're
gonna wanna have,
uh, if this didn't have a transparent
background, it would just be a big white square.
So that's just something to keep, uh,
in mind.
But let's go back here.
So you have your logo.
You could change the,
you could change the size.
You can change how much padding is below or
margin.
And then you can have a tagline here. So mine
right here is, "Launch your project with Scaffold."
You can change the, uh, heading
tag of the,
of the tagline. You could change the display
size. So here
we have it set to H4, and we want it to look
like an H4. But if I change this to H6
and hit Save,
you'll see it's smaller now.
So that's just a way that for SEO purposes,
the size of the heading and the tag
of the heading aren't,
uh, automatically
paired. You can, you can do whatever
you want. You can make it whatever size you want
and have it not affect the actual tag. You
can make it whatever tag you want and not have it affect
the size.
So anyway, there's that right there.
Then we have, um, our links.
So I know I said you
don't wanna have a lot of links. You can remove them, but
usually on your, uh,
landing footer, you still wanna have like a
privacy policy and TOS, terms
of service link.
I think it, it might actually be mandated
in some areas that you, you have
a, a privacy policy link on
every page of your website. So I would just double-check
that. But,
so if you wanna add important links on here,
you can certainly add them.
So let's go back here.
Um, one of the things I opted to keep on
here is social media. So you have your social
media icons here.
You can add, we have like a whole bunch of platforms
here. If there's something you wanna add that you don't
see on here, just, uh, reach out to support
and we can add it. But we-- you can see we have a bunch
of stuff here. Probably
90% of this stuff is never gonna get chosen.
Um, but anyway, let me go back here
and let's remove that last one we added.
And then we have the bottom text here. So
we have a copyright.
So you could choose whether you wanna include the copyright
text or not.
One of the things I did on here, and I,
it baffles me why
100% of web developers don't do this,
but I have it coded, so it's
the simplest thing in the world. It's like
a few characters of JavaScript
to make it so this number,
the 2025,
is automatically gonna stay
up to date. So when, when we get into the new year
and it's 2026, it's automatically gonna update
to 2026. Nothing drives me crazier
than when I go on a website
and I see on their footer it says 2017,
copyright 2017,
and the web developer is like manually updating
it every year. So anyway, that's just a side
note, but if,
if you have
Scaffold
Light or Pro, you never have to worry about the copyright
year. So let's, let's just, uh,
enjoy that.
But you can have your text here. So
Terrier Digital is the name of my agency, and
the product we've developed is Scaffold.
So here I have my company, uh,
copyright Terrier Digital LLC,
and then I decided I wanted to make it a link,
so I c- I copied,
um, the text here and said, "This is the text
I want to be the link," and then I linked it to my website.
I have it opening in a new tab.
And then you see right here, Powered by
Scaffold.
So, um,
if you're on Scaffold Pro, you can remove
that. You can click this little check mark
here and select that,
and now you see that doesn't show up there. But if you're
on Scaffold Light, it's free.
I gotta get, you know, I gotta get it some-- I
took a lot of time to develop these themes,
so, uh, if you are on Scaffold
Light, uh, we're gonna keep that
there. You're not gonna have the option to remove that
little link on the bottom that says Powered by
Scaffold.
But I think that's it. That's,
it's, it's very straightforward.
It's a very straightforward module.
Um, and yeah, that's it. So
when you're using your landing pages,
webinar registration pages,
trial pages, demo pages,
white paper download page, things like that,
you're gonna wanna use this landing footer.
