Resource Library
Organize downloadable assets like white papers, case studies, and guides with category filtering and search.

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
Let's take a look at the resource
library module.
The resource library module is one of my favorite
modules. It's very similar to
the event calendar module, if you've
seen that video,
uh, yet. And it's only available
on Scaffold Pro, like the event calendar module.
But even though it's on the paid
version of Scaffold, and,
you know, on Scaffold Light, you could recreate
something similar to this with the cards module.
You won't be able to filter through it like this one,
but you can create an index
of items, uh, that kind of look similar
to this on the cards module. If you,
if you, uh, you know, you could build it from scratch essentially,
but you won't be able to filter it like this. And
it's on Scaffold Pro, but it also
enables you to build
a beautiful functional
content library or event calendar
in the case of that one,
on your website without having to
pay for like a premium HubSpot feature
like HubDB or something like that. So
in the long run, it could save you money because you're not gonna
need to be on like the most expensive HubSpot
tier, one of the most expensive Hub-
HubSpot tiers
to get like a professional, clean, functional
looking content library on your website.
So let me show you how it works. This is actually one of my favorite
modules on
the, um,
on Scaffold.
So you have here, you
see we have different content. We have, um,
a white paper download, a case study,
an on-demand webinar,
solution brief white paper, things like that. And
then you have the filters here, which
if you don't, if you don't want them there, you can select this
to hide them,
or you could show them.
You have the different filter settings here, like the size
or the text, the font weight, all that stuff.
So that's easy enough. You can kind of figure that
out as you're,
um, messing around with the module.
But let me show you here. Let me just
refresh this.
So here you can see I'm on dark mode on
my computer,
and, um, I can go
to case study and it'll show me the case studies. I can go
to, uh,
on-demand webinars. So this is like a very user-friendly
thing that so you can have
this set up on your resource library, a,
a link to it,
and then a user could say, you know, I wanna see their latest
white paper, and they could click this,
and then it's just gonna show the white paper. So that's,
I just think that's kind of what I really like about
it and what's very cool about it.
And you don't need, you know, a crazy,
uh, expensive HubSpot tier and access
to HubDB to build something like this if
you have Scaffold Pro.
So, um,
let's take a look in here. Obviously, you can rearrange
things however you want.
Um, one of the things on the roadmap is
to have different ways that you could easily,
uh, filter. If you wanted to add a certain,
um, organizing structure, you could say,
"Hey, organize in alphabetical order,"
or something like that. I, I want to build, it's
on the roadmap to build some more functionality
into this.
Um, but right now
you can manually affect how you want things
to look. Uh, one thing to keep in
mind is whenever you hit like add here,
it gets added to the bottom.
So if you want your newest content
f- uh, up top, just, you just have to add it
and then drag and drop it to the top there, and you can see
what the default text looks like right there.
Um, but
let's click inside one of these so you can see it, what it
looks like.
Or actually, let me go here to the style.
So like everything else, you
have your core, uh,
basically functionality of spacing and alignment,
background and animation.
Uh, animation text is like how these load,
so or sorry, animation is like,
see how these fade in.
If you wanted to, you could change this
to be, uh, let's do
slide in down,
and we'll do a delay of this,
and we'll actually make it really long, just so you can see,
you know, the, the difference on here. I normally wouldn't
suggest to make the delay that long
and the duration that long. But you could see,
let me go here. I turn--
So you'll see I-it's automatically disabled
these page animations in the editor
because what happens is every little change
you make to, say, the text here or whatever,
it'll reboot the animation. So when you're editing
and you're trying to do things quickly, it's just like a pain.
So by default it's disabled here, and then if
you wanna change it,
you can change it. But,
uh, let's go here. So I'll reload this page,
and you can see that's kind of how they can load
if you want them to.
But let's go back here to content or
let me get a...
stop getting ahead of myself. Let me show you in the styles.
Here you could change like the heading
tag of all these.
Um, you could change the display size, you
could change,
um, you know, different things. Uh,
you could change like the border radius and,
and things like that. So
if you want it to lift on hover,
I say this every time there's any sort of animation,
uh, in the page editor.
The way it looks very snap. See how it looks very
snappy there?
That's just in the page editor. When you're on the actual
page,
it's like nice and smooth like that. So just
something to be aware of when you're editing this and if
you don't like the way that looks. I don't like the way it
looks in the page editor. It's very snappy.
But it's just HubSpot removes all the extra
coding fluff and stuff like that in the editor,
and then when it's on the actual webpage, it looks
like nice and smooth.
Okay, so you can edit all these different
things here,
but let's actually go into the content. So to
edit an actual
item here,
uh, you click in here to edit,
and then you have the different resource types here. So you
go, we have all these different types, brochure,
podcast, audio, tutorial, video, cheat
sheet, uh, battle card, all kinds
of things. If there's something on
here that you need that's not on there,
just reach out to support and we'll add it. We'll
get it. Whatever content type you need, we'll
get it added here,
and then everyone will have access to it. And
if you add a new content type here, say
I added
a new, uh, thing that was a workbook,
then it'll automatically get added to the filter
here. And, and one of the
other things that's on the roadmap is that you can like-
Uh, have a choice if you wanna not have
it on the filter for some reason, you could do that.
Say you have
too many different content types and they take
up too much space, and you only wanna have a select few
things on the filters, you could do that.
Um, that's on the roadmap, so, uh, keep
an eye out for that update.
But it's pretty self-explanatory. You have
the, um,
resource name, resource description.
One of the things
that is, uh... you can have here is include
publish date or not.
So I have it that, uh, you
could do this because,
you know, you might,
you might spend a ton of time and effort on
a, say, a report that comes
out in twenty twenty-five or,
or, or whatever. Say you spent a ton of time and
effort for a report and it came out in twenty twenty-two,
and the, and the
content is like evergreen. It's just
as relevant,
uh, today as it was three years ago
or four years ago or whatever.
Sometimes you might not wanna include the publish date
because there could be someone who,
uh, for whatever reason, as soon as they see that it's
three years old, they could go, "Oh, that's outdated. I don't wanna
read that." So that's why I give the users the
options whether they wanna include the publish date
or not. And you can see it shows up here.
You select your date, and then if you wanna have text in
front of it too to say like
updated on, you know, published on, updated
on, whatever.
We have this ac-accessibility option here. So,
um, this is just for people that are using screen
readers. When their
screen reader is going through the website,
you can have text that says,
you know, like, "Watch our webinar now," or something
like that, and it just makes it easier.
You want... It's important that your website
is, uh, accessible and usable
to as many people as possible, so I always encourage
people to take,
uh, that extra effort to put in the
accessibility text right there.
Um, but I think that's
it for now. I, I can't really think of a... Uh, you
know what? I, I almost
glossed over something that's important. So
you see here on the images,
I have a note here that for the best
display, you want all these images to
be the same size.
So the reason is like y- you
know, obviously you want every card to look
consistent. If I go here
and I select, uh, find
some other image,
uh, let's see if I can find something
that's like, uh...
Okay, let's just, for whatever, for this reason,
we'll use this stock image of one of the,
um, hypothetical
customers on, on the,
on the theme here.
So you could see here that it, like it doesn't look great. You
have this image, and then you have this big image, and like it
would look even worse,
let's say I go back here,
and I find another image.
Let's see, let's see, let's see. Um,
yeah, I'll do
this one. So
actually, that one's not that bad. Let me see if I can
find a better one that's not,
not super close to what we had before.
Um, let's
see this one.
Okay, so this is kind of giving you the idea of like
it's all over the place. You have this one this height,
this one this height, this one this height.
So it's always good to find,
uh, to stick to one image size.
And you could see this one here,
I think this looks the best. It's a sixteen by nine
aspect ratio. It's a very common aspect
ratio. And a little trick
that I found if you're not
the most like tech-savvy when it comes to photo
editing and stuff like that, you don't have Photoshop,
a cool little trick I found is to open up
Google Slides,
and I'm sure there's something similar you could do in PowerPoint.
And if you open up Google Slides
and you, uh, you have
just a, a slide,
uh, a slide deck saved that
you say, "This is like my image slide
deck that I use for my featured images and things
like that." And every time you say
you wanna add, uh, you find an image that
looks good for a webinar or a whitepaper,
uh, you just
take it and drag it onto the Google Slide.
You expand it, so it takes the full
width or the full height of the slide,
and it's... even if it goes like past,
you know, some of the edges of the slide, it'll just
get cropped automatically in the
next step, which is to,
uh, I, I forget exactly where it is. If you right-click
the slide or you go, it's, if you go on like
view or edit and... but there,
there is an option to download that slide
as a JP- as a PNG.
So what this it does is like it just gives you a way
that you can, uh, consistently get the exact
same image size on all
these images, and you don't need to be like doing Photoshop
and stuff like that.
So, um,
that's basically it. I don't know why my camera zoomed
out. Let's see if it's gonna zoom back in.
No. Okay. Oh, there we go. Now it's
zooming all the way in on me.
All right. So
enough with this camera. Now you can see every pore
on my face.
But, um, but that's it for
now. So if you have any issues with this, you can always
reach out to,
uh, support. Uh,
you can go to support@getscaffold.app.
You can go to getscaffold.app/support,
or you can open up one of the chat. Uh, there's a,
a chat window in the bottom corner of
the docs page that you're on- that you're viewing
this right now, and you can just initiate a chat
right there. So that's it.
Good luck.
